This variety is one of the most widely grown varieties in England, it was developed at Wye College ( Kent, UK) and released in 1992. Target is descended from Northern Brewer and Eastwell Golding, so you could call it a cousin of Challenger.
Target is adual purposeHops; they are used both as a bittering hop during boiling and as an aroma hop after boiling. Thanks to its relatively high alpha acid content, Target can provide a pleasant bitterness, but it is also used for its distinctive and exceptional hop aroma.
