Owner finds Old Kamil in basement in Antwerp

Published on

During the renovation work in the beautiful nineteenth-century patrician house in the Delinstraat in Antwerp-North, owner Valentijn Peeters (39) found 3 full and 12 empty bottles of Kamil yesterday.

During demolition work in the basement, the owner discovered some loose wooden planks in the ground. "When we broke them open, we found a wooden box containing green bottles."

Once they uncovered the crate, it turned out to be 3 full and 12 empty bottles of Kamil . "After some research, it turned out that Kamil was originally brewed on Van Geertstraat in Antwerp, just a few blocks away. The beer has been sitting in the cellar here for at least 8 years, and there's a good chance it came straight from the microbrewery; perhaps it's even one of Kamil's very first brews," concluded the happy owner.
